Synopsis:
Maya Farlow learned the hard way to depend only on herself, so when she fell too deeply for the bad-boy charms of Del Mitchell, she did the only thing she could—she ran. Stunned, Del left Fool's Gold to make his name and fortune in extreme sports.
Now ten years later, Maya's been hired to promote her hometown's new slogan, The Destination for Romance. The celebrity spokesman is none other than Del, the man she dumped but never forgot. Awkward!
Although Del's not the type to hold a grudge, he's determined to avoid falling a second time for the woman who broke his heart. He's a daredevil, not an idiot. Trouble is, in all his adventures, he never found a rush as exhilarating as Maya's kiss. Maybe risking his heart will prove to be the biggest thrill of all...

My Thoughts:

Fool's Gold Book 20, 20!  You'd think by now, Mallery would have said it all, that she would be telling the same story line or repeating past ideas, but no, this is not the case at all! Susan Mallery continues to delight her readers with new, refreshing stories in her beloved fictional town of Fool's Gold. Each story brings you closer to the town as if you've known its residents all your life. It's fun to reacquaint yourself with characters whose story has already been told. It's the continuation of your most favorite books, the kind where you long to know more as the years go by because the characters stay with you and you only want the best for them. And that's just about the series...

Maya and Del's story fits perfectly within this series. There is no doubt that Mallery's readers will fall in love with these two and want to read more about them in future Fool's Gold novels. The two are perfect for each other, reminding the reader of young love that was had and lost and then rekindled because it was always meant to be, the timing just hadn't matched up correctly, until now.

As with most stories of love and loss, there are obstacles that one is not quite sure the characters will be able to overcome unless they remove their head from their behind! Luckily, as in most romances, these two do and realize their true feelings, both finding themselves completely with each other.

This novel is a great read. You'll find yourself turning the pages, engrossed in the story and satisfied at the end. Oh, and don't worry if you haven't read the first 19 books!  Each story stands on its own, you'll just find yourself wanting to go back and read the others.
