My Review

An Amish Love is a collection of three Amish novellas. I occasionally enjoy reading these collections to experience different authors while reading shorter stories. It’s a wonderful way to sample an authors writing style. This set of novellas was not a disappointment. Each story tells the tale of a different Amish couple though reoccurring themes of love, forgiveness and redemption ring true for all three.

The novella set includes many typical yet wonderful aspects of Amish literature, such as recipes! However, this set of novellas was not as predictable as many other Amish novels I have read. I enjoyed reading a few surprises as well as the twist and turns in the story lines. As always, I enjoyed reading and learning more about the Amish way of life.

While I enjoy my romance novels, after all sex is part of the relationship between husband and wife, it’s nice to read stories that include the other parts of romance and love. Trust, friendship, emotional connections, respect and romance are all included in these stories amidst the trouble and hard times the couples are trying to overcome. In short, the stories take human nature, God and relationship issues and weave them into realistic and believable stories that capture your attention. It is worth the read.
