Product Descriptions From Amazon.com:
The Purple Smurfs
When a strange fly bites one of the Smurfs, a full-on epidemic develops in the Smurf Village! After being bit, a Smurf turns purple and his vocabulary is reduced to one single word: “gnap!” The purple Smurf runs around the Smurf Village biting other Smurfs on the tail, causing them to turn purple and act crazy too! Soon enough, there are more purple Smurfs than blue Smurfs in the village. It’s up to Papa Smurf to find a cure and save the Smurf Village before all of the Smurfs lose their minds for good!

The Smurfs and the Magic Flute
This graphic novel presents the first comics in which the Smurfs ever appeared! In Medieval times, a court jester named Peeweet who lives in a King’s castle discovers a flute that makes those who listen to it dance until they collapse from exhaustion. When a thief steals the flute, Peeweet must search out the makers of the flute, the Smurfs, to make an even more powerful flute to combat the thief in this wildly funny tale that introduced the Smurfs to millions.

  1. I actually don't remember much about the Smurfs, but I DO remember that my now 26-year-old daughter totally HAD to watch them any time they were on! She also wanted to be the girl Smurf! Now that I have grandchildren, I know that my grandson, who is 5, gets a kick out of each and every book he gets from his "Gigi". I think that he would be happy with either one, but "The Purple Smurfs" seems like a book that a silly crazy boy would love even more!

  2. Oh my goodness I loved the Smurfs as a child! It was one of my favorite cartoons. It would be very hard to pick an episode that was the best. Honestly I enjoyed them all. I used to want a smurf! My sister and I would watch them every sat morning as a child! I wish I could watch one now!
I would like "The Purple Smurfs", it seems very funny!

  6. I remember being in a store with my sister who is 16 years younger then me. I saw a display of little Smurf figures and got all excited. Her response? "What's a Smurf?"

  7. Gosh it's been so long since I last saw a Smurf's episode but it was one of my favorite cartoons. I remember rushing home from school or waking up early, grabbing a bowl of cereal and sitting in front of the TV with my sibling to watch The Smurfs. I would be happy with either book.

  8. My favorite Smurf memory is developing a roll of film 1 or 2 years later and finding my son sleeping in his car seat holding his stuffed Smurf. Fast forward almost 30 years later, I shot a picture of HIS son asleep in a stroller holding his own smurf.

  11. The Smurfs and the Magic Flute..namely because I'm an opera singer and there's an opera with the title (minus the Smurf part).

I'm already following!! And wow, I LOVE THE SMURFS I'm pushing 30 and will still watch it if it comes on ha!

Let's see, my fav memories are any time they call something "A Smurf" or when Vanity says something really smug about himself (or herself?!). One of my many favorite episodes is when they had to find Father time. I vaguely remember what exactly was happening but I know it seemed magical to me :)

  19. I'd be happy to win either book. When I was younger I watched Smurfs all the time. For my fifth birthday, I received a plush Smurf as a present. It was one of my favorite dolls. Thanks.

  22. I would love to win The Purple Smurfs.

The thing I remember most from the smurfs is Gargamel and his cat Azrael, I loved watching all the schemes he would come up with to try to get the smurfs.
